Difference 1 — Awarding body

Hobby classes: a private education company issues a "completion certificate".

Accredited diploma (e.g. Nova): issued by Institut Kemahiran Mara (IKMa), a Malaysian government body under the Ministry of Human Resources.

Difference 2 — Qualification level

Hobby classes: no MQF / EQF level.

Accredited diploma: MQF Level 4 + EQF Level 5, recognised internationally.

Hobby classes: "Completed Python course" on a CV is usually treated as a hobby.
